Project Name:
DIY Retailer
System: Polished
Concrete - Superfloor
Area: 50000m²
Details: As
part of an ongoing maintenance program
at the UKs leading chain of
DIY stores Quest was charged with
specifying the most suitable floor
system for the refurbishment of worn-out
/ distressed floor surfaces. The ideal
solution needed to be low maintenance,
low cost and very hard wearing. We
assessed and evaluated a range of
floor solutions until submitting our
polished concrete Superfloor
system. A test area was created in
a trial store with key benchmarks
and performance indicators being met.
A program of refurbishment was initiated
throughout the group with our Polished
Concrete Superfloor system.
Project Name:
Dun Laoghaire Harbour
System:
Concrete grinding outdoors
Area:
14500m²
Details:
The harbour at Dun Laoghaire in Ireland
is 180 years old, 1 mile long and
14.5 meters wide. Brand new concrete
slab was laid with selected pebble
aggregate and seashells as specified
by the projects designers. Quest were
called upon to grind the 14500m²
of concrete slab while ensuring a
good slip resistance rating could
be achieved when wet but exposing
enough of the aggregate and seashells
to create a surface sympathetic to
the environment and surrounding area.
Thorough testing was carried out by
Quest to find the best grinding process
to achieve good slip resistance ratings
and expose the right amount of aggregate
and seashells. The program Quest had
to work to was demanding but was completed
on time, in budget and to specification. |
